New Year Resources!
I'm not big on resolutions, but I am big on reflecting, being intentional, and making proper improvements in my world. I'm excited to share one of my new favorite resources!
Happy 2023! I am particularly excited about this year and I can’t really tell you why. Maybe it’s because 2022 was such a mixed bag of high’s and low’s for me, so 2023 can’t get any better or any worse than 2022. 🤣
Check out my New Year’s Podcast with some valuable resources. Usually I like to test resources for years before I share them. But this one is too good not to share right away. Chelsi Moore with ChelsiJo.co is all about succeeding “in home and business without feeling pulled in all directions.”
Her stuff is fun, achievable, and very practical. I LOVE systems, always have, but often cannot see the forest for the trees in my own life. I can help others but often can’t help myself. 🙇🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Chelsi’s stuff has been just the injection of motivation and guidance I’ve needed to get my world moving in the right direction.
Depending on your life stage, sometimes life gets wonky. Kids go off to college. Family members move onto the next life. We move homes or cities. Children change schools. We change jobs. NOW WHAT?! Sometimes the initial change can be fun, but then there can be times where we get stale or lost.
My personality isn’t a quick adjuster and when I’m in the middle of change, I’m just keeping the wheels on. But at some point, I’ve got to move out of survival mode and into properly-functioning-mode. Chelsi’s resources have helped me slowly start to comb through some things and bring some order to our very full lives.
I have decided that I like to have a full life, I do not like to have a busy life. There is a big difference. In a busy life, which I’ve lived most of my existence, there’s no margin. The calendar, the obligations, the commitments are so loud and so demanding that there’s no room for the spontaneous. I’m tired of that. It has worn my butt and my budget out. I’m tired of “life” happening to me and I’m ready to decide what life I want to live.
It’s taken me some time to get here. For example, I’ve had to complete commitments and roll off of boards and obligations in order to hit the reset button. I have had to take a lot of time to comb through what I like and don’t like…what I’m willing to do and what I’m not. It has probably taken me 2 years to truly simplify. Now I get to slowly rebuild things the way I want them.
Are you ready to be fulfilled not tired and strung out? Are you ready to grab a hold of your world and live intentionally? Join me! I won’t sugar-coat it—it hasn’t been easy, but it’s been highly valuable.
A few quick hit-tips that I discuss in the New Year’s Podcast:
The emotional, spiritual, and physical are all connected. If you’re struggling with something emotionally or spiritually, it will manifest physically in some way, shape, or form and vise versa. No biggie—join the club of being human.
As my mentor/shinsei, Dr. Burriss, always says, “Emotions are energy in motion.” Emotions are not bad or good—they are information. All they do is inform you that something needs to be dealt with. All negative emotions are based in fear and all positive emotions are based in love. Work toward being driven by love not fear. For example, I’m driven to do my work because I love it not because I fear the approval of man, or being poor, or fill-in-the-blank. If you don’t love your work, slowly start to move toward understanding what you do love to do and start exploring how you can make a living doing what you love. Assess your world and start to discern—where am I driven by fear? HINT: if you feel things like anxiety, tension, fear of losing or missing something, obsession, worry, a heavy pressing of time (aka out of time), etc—that ain’t love. Love is patient, kind, slow to anger, abounding in love, it’s not selfish or rude—Love has a persona and an essence that is the absolute opposite of fear.
Take Baby steps: you can’t overhaul your entire life in a day—besides that isn’t lasting. Take things slowly and as you need to. Don’t avoid, but don’t rush either. YOU CAN DO THIS!
